Video tutorial

On the Seat Ateca 4Drive, the rear differential is separate from the Haldex system. The capacity is 0.95 litres of 75W-90 GL-5 oil. You will need a hex key for the plugs, a hand pump, and a bowl.

Procedure: lift the car on level ground, locate the rear differential (behind the Haldex). Unscrew the drain plug, let the old oil drain out, and re-screw the plug.

Open the fill plug, insert the pump hose, and pump oil until it flows out of the hole: this indicates the correct level. Re-screw the plug.

Check for leaks. The manufacturer considers the oil to be "lifetime", but many mechanics recommend changing it every 60,000-80,000 miles.

Do not confuse this oil with that of the Haldex, which is a specific fluid and should be changed separately.
