How to Replace the Windscreen Washer Pump in the Smart 450

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

First, open the front bonnet to access the windscreen washer pump. The washer fluid reservoir and its pump are located just below the windscreen, slightly to the right of the engine bay (as shown in the images). Removing the windscreen washer pump is a very simple task. It is advisable to place a bowl under the car, near the washer fluid reservoir, as some fluid may spill. Now disconnect the electrical supply to the motor that pumps the water and remove the pump to replace it with the new one. The new part should cost around £17.
