The cabin air filter on a Smart Four Four model 451 vehicle is located inside the cabin. Specifically, the filter is located under the passenger side glove compartment. The cost for replacing the filter varies depending on the workshop you go to, but generally this operation can be done independently. To access the cabin air filter, you need to remove the lower side of the dashboard in the footwell area. Once the cover is removed, unscrew the screws that secure the filter cover so that it can be replaced. The installation follows the reverse procedure. The cabin air filter should be replaced at least once a year.
