How to remove the roof of a Smart Fortwo? Follow these steps: use a screwdriver to remove the side plastic covers located at the edges of the roof, then, use a spanner or socket to undo the nuts on it (if present). Once the nuts are removed, slide the roof backwards. Disconnect the metal bars where the roof slides (on the top side of the car). Remove the roof locking hooks located on the frame of the car's folding structure. Finally, take the roof off the vehicle body and prepare to fit a new one with included locking hooks.
