Replacing the Wheel Arm on a Smart Fortwo

To proceed with the removal of the arm, you will need to lift the car, preferably on a lift, to have enough space, as the operations may be quite strenuous and require some brute force. After removing the wheel, unscrew the central nut of the hub that connects the arm to the wheel housing. Once this is done, to remove the axle from its housing, you will also need to disconnect the suspension system so that the arm can drop down and have the necessary space. Now, simply disconnect it from the gearbox side, and here you will need to use a lever and a hammer if the joint is stuck.
