In this guide, we will see how to remove and replace the front shock absorbers on the Smart Fortwo, following these simple steps. First, lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel; then unscrew the bolts of the suspension bracket using a T30 Torx spanner, as shown in the video. Now, open the bonnet to unscrew the upper nut of the suspension, then disconnect it from the arm; replace the shock absorber with the new one and reassemble everything, applying the reverse procedure of disassembly!
