How to disassemble alternator on Smart 451

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Alternator

Let's see how to remove the damaged alternator of the Smart Fortwo. We lift the car on a jack and remove the rear wheel in conjunction with the part where the alternator is mounted. We remove the plastic lining in the lower part of the mudguard (stone guard), we arrive at the alternator placed under the engine compartment. We disassemble the alternator and its belt. We remove the damaged alternator and mount a new one (same size and voltage). At the end of the assembly of the alternator we just have to mount all the plastic coatings of the car with attached tightening screws. We test the correct charging of the battery by the new alternator.

How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Mini

Want to replace the gear knob on a Mini? Follow these steps for the replacement: first, take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until you remove it from the gear stick. Use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if it needs replacing). For reassembly: fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (if removed), then take the new knob and push it onto the stick in the centre console until it is secured. Finally, test the movement of the stick in the centre console to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
