Before we begin, we will need to open the tailgate of the luggage compartment of our Smart ForTwo. So let's start by unscrewing and removing the screws that secure the rear bumper to the frame, positioned along the entire perimeter of the bumper itself. After that, we will have to disengage and remove the retaining clips as well. By doing so, we will have freed the rear bumper. At this point, we will have to disengage and remove the bumper itself, and then remove it. When we have completed this step, we will have finished the dismantling of the rear bumper of our Smart ForTwo.

Want to replace the gear knob on a Scenic? Let’s see how to do it in this video. First, detach the leather gaiter cover from the edge of the centre console. Use a plastic spatula to remove the cap indicating the gear numbers. Grip the knob and twist it until it comes off the shaft.
