Replacing Brake Pads on Smart Forfour

Model: Smart Smart 453 - Years 2014-2022

Lift the vehicle using a suitable jack and remove the affected front wheel by unscrewing the bolts. As clearly shown in the video, manually remove the two rear bolt covers on the caliper and then unscrew those bolts. Also, remove the metal clip and pull the caliper off the disc. At this point, you can extract the pads from the caliper. Push the piston back that holds the brake pads and, while you're at it, clean the entire braking assembly. Insert the new pads into the caliper and refit it onto the disc. Refit the wheel and you're done.
