In this video tutorial we can see how to install the speedometer on Smart 451. The first thing to do will be to remove the plastic cover located above the dashboard, using a plastic lever to avoid damaging it. Once you have removed the plastic cover, you have to find the connector, once you have found the connector, you have to connect it to the new speedometer and check if it works; then insert the key and start the engine; at this point you should see that the speedometer hands are moving correctly. Adjust the clock time. Arrange the cable inside and place the speedometer in the place where the plastic cover was. Screw on the cover.
