To replace the cabin filter in a Smart 453, detach the plastic cover on the side of the footwell on the driver's side. Once this panel is removed, detach the cover of the filter box to access the cabin filter underneath.

After removal, insert the new replacement part and secure the protective cover. Finally, reinstall the plastic panel in the driver's footwell that was previously removed.
