How do you reset the oil light on the Smart 451? First, you must change the oil and the filter. Then, you can think about resetting the light. Insert the key into the ignition and keep it in the off position, without turning on the ignition or the engine. Press and hold the two buttons on the left side of the dial while turning the key to the "on" position. Hold for about 10 seconds until the display resets to "000 miles", thus resetting the interval for the next service and turning off the service light.
