Replacing the Radio in the Smart 453

To replace the radio, follow this procedure: use a sharp object to release the radio's front panel on all four sides and disconnect the rear electrical connector. There are four screws on both sides of the radio that need to be removed.

At this point, extract the display and disconnect the power connectors located behind it. At the bottom of the housing, there are screws that must be removed to extract the radio mounting box. Once all screws are removed, pull the box towards you to extract it. Also, remove the dashboard panel by gently prying it off. This will give you access to the radio, which is secured with four screws that need to be removed.

Then, extract the radio and disconnect the connectors located at the rear.

Position the new radio and reverse all the activities described above to reassemble everything.
