To replace the fuel filter on a Smart 450, access the rear of the car by loosening the screws that secure the inner cover of the right rear wheel arch. Once this cover is moved, you will be able to access the underlying components, including the fuel filter. You can then disconnect the fuel lines and connectors attached to the filter so that it can be completely removed. This will allow you to connect the new filter and replace the wheel arch cover.
