How to Perform a Service Reset on Smart Fortwo

This brief video guide shows all the steps necessary to reset the service light on a Smart Fortwo 450, model produced from 1998 to 2007. First, turn on the ignition by turning the key to the first position, then display the trip mileage by pressing the button on the left of the speedometer before turning off the ignition. Once done, press and hold the button and turn the key back to the first position to turn on the ignition again, and finally wait about ten seconds with the button pressed until the reset is complete.
