To replace the indicator stalk on a Smart, remove the screws securing the panel at the bottom of the steering column to access the upper part. Once the panel is removed, loosen the screws holding the indicator stalk and disconnect the corresponding power cables.

After removing the indicator stalk, install the new one, securing it with screws and reconnecting the power cables, then cover everything with the panel.
