How to reset the Service light on the Smart Fortwo?

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

To reset the Service light on the Smart Fortwo, press and hold the button located on the right rear of the instrument panel while it is off: continue holding the button and then insert the ignition key into the ignition lock. At this point, keep holding the button until the light is reset; then you can release the button and turn off the panel. When you turn it back on, you can check that the reset has been successful.
