To remove the climate control buttons of the Smart, use a tool to pry off the trim located at the top of the panel and also the radio located at the bottom. At this point, loosen the screws that secure the control panel at both the top and bottom: this will allow you to extract the panel from its housing and disconnect the connectors at the back. Now, the new control panel can be connected and securely fixed in its housing.
