How to Replace the Climate Control Bulb in a Smart

The climate control console is illuminated by a single bulb and uses a light channeling system made of a sort of plexiglass tunnel: this bulb is located beneath the triangular insert in the centre of the dashboard, between the rev counter and the clock, where the hazard warning button, the air conditioning switch, and the heated rear window button are housed; to perform the replacement, detach this insert and open it by undoing the screws underneath to access the circuit housing the bulb complete with its holder.
