How do you reset the automatic transmission of the Smart car?

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Warning light – error code

The flashing letter N appearing on the Smart's instrument panel indicates that the automatic transmission has a malfunction. To temporarily resolve this issue, you can put the car in gear when the engine is off. At this point, with the gear engaged and the ignition key in position two, you will need to push the car so that it can start. Once the brake pedal is released during the pushing operation, the car will start. However, it is necessary to promptly go to the workshop to perform a diagnosis and identify the cause of the malfunction.
