How do you start the Smart car?

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Checks and maintenance

In order to start the Smart car, it is obviously necessary to insert the ignition key into the corresponding slot: however, this is not located to the right of the steering column as in most cars. In this model, the ignition slot is located on the central tunnel immediately behind the gear selector: once this has been placed in position N, it will be possible to insert the key into the slot and turn it to position 2. By doing so, the car will start and it will be possible to turn it off by turning the key in the opposite direction.

How to Replace the Front Headlight of a Toyota Aygo

To carry out this operation, you will need to release the bonnet from the appropriate lever to lift it and secure it with the prop rod. Disconnect the battery terminals to protect any more delicate circuits, then proceed to unscrew all the bolts securing the bumper and the headlights themselves, as there are additional bolts behind the bumper to remove. Disconnect the connectors at the back of each headlight to extract it, and in this way, you can install the new headlight. Reverse the steps described for reassembling the various components.
