To replace the air filter that feeds the engine injection system of the Smart 450, open the rear bonnet, lift the cover, unscrew the screw that secures the engine cover, and remove it. Find the filter housing on your left, and using a screwdriver, unclip the four clips on the sides of the cover and remove it. Release the lock that secures the cylindrical filter and remove it, clean the inside of the housing with a vacuum cleaner, insert the new filter and secure it, replace the cover, clip it back on, and reassemble the engine cover and lining.
