Replacing Brake Pads

Model: Subaru Outback MK 2, BH, BE - Years 1999-2003

Remove the wheel and gently detach the caliper by removing the two retaining clips with two large screwdrivers or the appropriate tools. Unscrew the two caliper pins and remove the worn pads, replacing them with two new ones of the same type. Clean the pads and the entire mechanical assembly thoroughly using compressed air and a deoxidising spray. Refit the bracket, cleaning and lubricating the retaining springs, then tighten them. Reattach the caliper, ensuring the various clips are positioned correctly. The pad with the electrical contacts should be mounted towards the inside, paying attention to the direction of travel. Realign the piston by pushing it inward and check the pads' adherence to the disc. Perform the same operation on the other brake.
