In this video, we see the common mistakes in mounting DAB antennas: the most common mistake is mounting the antenna in a horizontal position or, worse, under darkening or shielding materials; in fact, these are antennas that are often "fin" shaped, designed for vertical reception. Horizontal mounting drastically reduces signal reception, and conductive materials block radio waves. The solution is therefore to mount the antenna in a vertical position, at the highest and least shielded point (if it is a glass antenna). Additionally, the copper part (the tab and ground connector) must be installed in a spot where the metal is not shielded by paint. The connectors of the antenna or coaxial cable must be inserted correctly; they should not be loose or oxidized. Furthermore, the coaxial cable should neither be too long nor of low quality; let’s ensure that the antenna is specific for DAB/DAB+; antenna cables should not be close to high-voltage cables, inverters, or other noisy devices.
