To adjust the valve clearance on the Sym Maxsym 400, you need to open the under-seat compartment by inserting the key into the designated lock. Once the seat is lifted, loosen the bolts that secure the seat to its housing and remove it completely. At this point, you will need to detach all the underlying panels, including that of the footrest compartment: under these panels, you will find the engine. By loosening the bolts that secure the cylinder head, you will be able to remove it, gaining access to the underlying valves: their clearance can now be adjusted using a feeler gauge.
