How to Change the 12V Battery on a Tesla Model 3

To replace the 12V battery on the Tesla Model 3, lower all the windows and leave the driver and rear right doors open. Open the front trunk and on the display, go to "Safety" and select "Power Off Vehicle." Remove the two plastic covers secured with clips. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Lift the rear passenger seat (by pressing the two tabs) to access the charging cable and vent tube, which need to be disconnected. Remove the mounting bracket and disconnect the positive terminal. Extract the old battery and cover the positive terminal. Insert the new battery (Yuasa YBX5053, available on Auto-doc, EAN code 2217840010400, priced at $102.99 + $9.95 shipping). Reconnect the positive terminal and the vent tube. From the rear seat, reconnect the DC-DC cable and reassemble the seat. Reconnect the negative terminal and the bracket, then reattach the covers. The warning light will disappear.
