How to Change the Air Filter on Toyota RAV4

To replace the engine air filter on a Toyota RAV4, open the bonnet and locate the air filter box in the engine bay, usually positioned on the left side and connected to the intake pipe. Identify the metal clips or screws securing the filter box cover and unclip or unscrew them.

Gently lift the cover without forcing the connected pipes. Remove the used air filter by lifting it from its seat.

Check the inside of the box and, if necessary, clean it of dust or debris with a dry cloth or compressed air. Insert the new air filter ensuring it is correctly positioned and that the edges fit snugly in the seat. Replace the cover and reattach the clips or screw the screws back in. Close the bonnet and ensure everything is securely fastened before starting the engine.
