First, wait for the engine to cool down, then open the bonnet, connect a hose to the lower drain hole, open the valve, and let all the coolant in the system drain out. Next, disconnect the battery terminals starting with the negative, remove both the battery and its base, and proceed to disconnect the thermostat hose. At this point, simply unscrew the two mounting nuts of the housing, remove the thermostat, insert the replacement, and reassemble everything by following the reverse procedure. Finally, remember to tighten the drain valve and refill with new coolant.
