In this video, we see how a Toyota hybrid works. The battery under the seat powers the electric motor, while the thermal engine is a classic petrol combustion engine.

An inverter manages everything: charging, discharging, and acceleration. The gearbox is a continuously variable automatic.

In the city, you can drive a few miles on electric power, and when you brake, you recover energy, recharging the traction battery: it does not plug in, as it is not a plug-in hybrid. Being a full hybrid, the inverter decides when to use the thermal engine and when to use the electric motor.

For maintenance, treat it like a normal car: oil, filters, brakes, coolant. Additionally, the inverter needs cooling with the radiator fluid.

It works well, consumes little, and does not cause any particular problems.
