How to change the cabin air filter in a Toyota Yaris

To replace the cabin air filter in a third-generation Toyota Yaris, turn off the engine and open the glove compartment located in front of the front passenger. If present, detach the side damper of the drawer and gently press the side walls inward to release the catches, fully lowering the compartment.

Behind it is the pollen filter housing, protected by a rectangular cover. After unfastening the retaining tabs, remove the cover and extract the old filter element.

Clean the housing of any leaves and debris, then insert the new filter, ensuring it follows the airflow direction. Finally, reposition the cover and glove compartment, checking that all catches are securely fastened and that the ventilation operates correctly.
