How to Replace the Wing Mirror on a Toyota Corolla

Removing the wing mirror on a Toyota Corolla is a fairly simple task, but it requires removing the entire door panel to access the power connector. First, remove the plastic cover behind the mirror from the inside of the door; it will be clipped in place, so gently pry along the edges to remove it. Once done, proceed to remove the panel, which is secured to the door with three screws and several plastic clips. To access the first two screws, detach the two plastic covers along the armrest; these are also clipped in and can be removed by prying along the edges. One of these covers includes the window lift control, and once removed, you will need to disconnect the power connector underneath. After removing the two covers, you will have access to the two screws that need to be unscrewed, and then you can proceed to unscrew a third screw located inside the door handle. Once all screws are removed, the panel will still be held to the door by plastic clips along the sides and bottom of the panel. To release them, pry along the joint line between the panel and the door sheet metal. Once all clips are released, simply lift the panel upwards to detach it from the guide at the top. At this point, you can completely remove the panel from the car and finally access the power connector for the mirror, which can be disconnected. The mirror will also be secured to the car by three easily visible pins on its inner side that need to be unscrewed. Once the screws are removed, the mirror will come off easily, and you can then proceed to install a new one and reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly.
