How to Replace the Brake Shoes on a Sym 125 Scooter

Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: Accelerator

Video tutorial

The video shows how to replace the brake shoes on a scooter, but the procedure is the same for any scooter, including the Sym 125. Start by removing the wheel from its housing. If necessary (as shown in the video), also remove the exhaust.

In this case, don’t forget to obtain a new gasket to apply when refitting the exhaust. Once you have removed the screws from both the exhaust and the wheel, detach the springs from the wheel axle and take them out. Clean the axle, taking care not to inhale the dust.

Insert the new springs and reassemble everything by reversing the steps.
