Many Volkswagen GTI owners with a sunroof think that cleaning the nozzles and drains is unnecessary as water can drain on its own through the tubes. Unfortunately, this is a myth, as dirt and rust can accumulate inside the drains, preventing water from flowing, leading to mould growth and damaging the roof lining.

To clean the sunroof drains, simply pour water mixed with rust inhibitor into them and use a flexible brush to reach all areas and clean the insides.
