How to test a 12-volt alternator

In this video we see how to test the functionality of a 12-volt alternator on a bench. We will need a drill with adapters for the key, a battery with its cables, and the alternator. We connected the negative to the alternator - which we placed on a vise to hold it still, while we attached the positive behind the alternator, where the thickest cable usually goes. In the same place we put a light bulb for testing. We also attached the tester. If the alternator is good, the light bulb should turn off, and the tester should show at least 13 volts. We attach the drill, and we see that indeed the two conditions are met. The test went well.
