In this video we can see the problems that can arise from a malfunctioning Idle Air Control Valve (IACV); when it doesn't work properly, the engine idle speed can fluctuate irregularly, stuttering or vibrating, even stalling, especially when slowing down; this is particularly problematic in heavy traffic conditions or during parking maneuvers. Also, when cold, it may have trouble starting; unfortunately, an irregular idle leads to higher fuel consumption and the engine light coming on, because the ECU detects a problem. The causes for the valve to malfunction can be various: accumulation of carbon debris, electrical failures or simple mechanical wear.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
