Difference between engine control warning light and engine maintenance warning light

In this video we see what the difference is between the engine warning light and the maintenance light. The engine warning light is yellow/amber and indicates a fault or malfunction detected by the ECU: it is a warning of a technical problem related to the catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, valve timing, injectors etc; all problems that need to be urgently checked by a mechanic and that only turn off after the fault has been repaired. The maintenance light, on the other hand, is often a wrench with the word service written on it: it is a programmed reminder that indicates it is time for maintenance; it does not detect faults, but only tells us that it is time for a service. It is manually reset after the required services have been performed.

How to Reset the Central Locking of the Volkswagen Golf 4?

If the central locking system of the Volkswagen Golf 4 is not working, it is likely necessary to reset the system: to do this, open the driver's door and detach the side panel of the dashboard next to the steering wheel. Under this panel, you will find the fuses, including the one for the central locking, which is indicated in the manual as number 14. To reset the system, remove this fuse from its housing, then reinsert it or replace it with a new one of the same amperage: this will reset the central locking system.
