How to reset the immobilizer warning light.

This is a generic list that explains the basic principles of the immobilizer and provides a standard checklist and troubleshooting attempts applicable to almost all modern cars: We check the remote battery; if it works, the problem is with the primary key, so we try the spare key; we attempt a soft reset by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. We check if there is a fuse in the fuse box dedicated specifically to the immobilizer or "anti-theft" system and replace it if it is blown. We check that the key does not have scratches or damage; we look for damage to wiring or connectors; even the antenna that reads the key chip (the plastic ring around the ignition cylinder) can be damaged. Each model also has its own specifications, such as the security code (PIN) provided at the time of delivery of the new vehicle. If this system also fails, then we need to consult a professional who, with the appropriate tools, will help us diagnose the fault and reprogram the keys.
