The breakage of the boot strut spring requires the replacement of the entire rod. Open the boot and secure it using a wooden plank to proceed with the removal of the strut safely. Move the seal and using a flathead screwdriver, unscrew the screw at the base. Next, unscrew the screw on the boot lid to completely remove the strut. After removing the strut, the boot may slightly drop, so it is very important not to stand underneath it. The installation of the rod follows the reverse procedure; the rod can be purchased new from an auto parts store or second-hand.
