Then, gently remove the seal using a screwdriver, being careful not to damage the seating where the new one will be placed. Clean the seating thoroughly to remove any debris that could damage the new seal. To fit the new seal, position it around the cap you previously removed and place it in the seating. Using your fingers, press the seal into place to ensure a good fit. Then, using a piece of wood, tap the end cap to ensure it sits correctly in the seal.
