The mounts are responsible for keeping the engine in position and absorbing the resulting vibrations. Although their number depends on the type of engine, these should be checked and replaced from time to time.

Let's look at the types of engines and how many mounts they have: - The longitudinal engine has three mounts, one on each side. - The transverse engine has two holding mounts and one stabilising mount. The replacement procedures are similar for both models; it is important to remember to lift the engine before replacing the mounts to avoid load on the support.

To remove them, loosen all the fastening elements and ensure the mount is unloaded. Then, remove them and clean the housing of each mount.

Finally, install the new mounts.
