Part: Control unit
Operation: How do control units work and how to read their parameters

Let's see how to read the data from the control units: first of all, what does CAN-BUS mean: CAN stands for Controller Area Network, that is where the data from the various control units pass through. It is a protocol that was born in the 1980s, but used in the following decade. The Mercedes W140 was the first car to use it, when cars began to have a lot of electronics instead of hundreds of wiring, they relied on a single high-tech CAN line (over 1,000,000 bits per second), where many sensors offer their information to multiple control units, because the signals do not have an address, but only an identifier. It is very reliable, and immune to interference. Through the high-speed lines, they send signals to the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of the most important components, such as the engine, ABS, adaptive suspensions, and with the low-speed lines the less important systems such as climate control, infotainment, airbags, etc. Then in the 1990s, the EOBD protocol was introduced, which is able to communicate with the car's CAN line, to have a universal communication tool with the car. There are devices that allow us to read these errors (read-only) even for users. A practical test follows for the use of an OBD11 in combination with a decoding app.

How to reset the tire pressure warning light on Dacia Sandero?

Let's see below how it is possible to reset the low tire pressure signal on the car: first of all it is necessary to check the correct tire pressure by comparing it with the pressures reported in the use and maintenance manual. After that, turn on the ignition and locate the command on the right side of the steering wheel at the top that allows you to access the on-board computer menu, then select the car symbol, after which select the "up arrow" command up to that the indication "tire pressure" appears on the display. At that point, press the "Ok" control on the steering wheel and keep it pressed to reset the signal.
