How do you reset the Service light on the Volkswagen Passat?

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

In order to reset the Service light on the Volkswagen Passat, you need to press and hold the button located on the right side of the dashboard, just below the speedometer. While continuing to hold this button, you can insert the ignition key and turn it to turn on the dashboard. Once the dashboard is turned on, you need to grab the button on the opposite side of the dashboard and rotate it; this will reset the Service light and you can release the button on the right to turn off the dashboard permanently.
