How to Replace the Key Battery on a Volkswagen Golf 4

How do you disassemble the key remote for the Golf 4? Follow this guide. First: press the key release button to free the key insert space. Take a plastic spatula or a screwdriver and pry apart the two plastic halves, separating the covers exactly in the middle. Pull apart and open the cover into two pieces. Once you locate the worn battery, replace it with a new one of the same specifications and dimensions. Close the two covers by pressing one against the other. Finally, join the two ends and close the metal key.
