How to remove the steering wheel of a Volkswagen Beetle?

To remove the steering wheel of a Volkswagen Beetle, start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery to avoid short circuits, as the steering wheel includes the airbag. After waiting a few minutes to make sure the airbag is completely deactivated, locate the fixing screws on the back of the steering wheel that hold the airbag in place. Remove them carefully and remove the airbag, being careful to delicately disconnect the cables that connect it. Once the airbag is removed, observe the central nut that secures the steering wheel to the steering column. Mark the exact position of the steering wheel with a marker to facilitate correct reassembly, then loosen and remove the nut using a suitable key. At this point, you can gently pull the steering wheel to extract it from the column, paying attention to the connectors and cables connected. Make sure not to damage them.
