How to disassemble the gear shift knob of a Volkswagen Golf?

Good morning, to remove the gear shift knob cover of the Volkswagen Golf, start by sitting inside the car. Look towards the center console where you will find the gear shift lever. Now, carefully look around the base of the gear shift lever to locate the cover. Gently grab it and pull upwards with even pressure. It may require some force, but be careful not to damage the cover or the gear shift lever. Continue pulling until the cover completely comes off. Once removed, we will have access to the bottom part of the cover and the gear shift lever underneath for any maintenance work.
