Before we can begin, we will have to sit in the driver's seat of our Volkswagen Golf. So let's start by disengaging the base of the gearshift gaiter, using a slotted screwdriver as a lever. After that, we will have to go and raise the headset itself as much as possible. By doing so, we will have reached the clip that secures the headset to the gear lever. We then proceed by going to unhook the clip in question. At this point, we can lift and remove the headset with the gear knob. When we have completed this step, we will have to remove the gear knob from the headset, and we will have completed the disassembly.
