How to Open the Key Remote of a Volkswagen Golf

Follow these steps to open the key remote of a Volkswagen Golf: take your remote and press the release button of the metal key. Once the metal key is out, use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key (in the space where the metal key fits). Pry until the cover opens, then extract the worn battery with a small screwdriver. Take a new battery of the same size and voltage. Refit the small circuit board onto the same cover or replace it with a new one, pressing the key case until you hear it click into place. Finally, join the two covers and check the remote's functionality by pressing the buttons.
