How to change the radio of the Volkswagen Polo MK3 with a 2DIN

In this quick video, we see how easy it is to change the stock radio of a Volkswagen Polo with a 2DIN: we start by removing the top part of the dashboard, which is just snapped in, then we unscrew the screws that are exposed, remove the trim of the air conditioning controls (using a plastic spatula) and remove the screws found underneath, so that we can remove the radio unit. We disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna, and then remove the two components located on the sides of the unit; we unscrew the radio unit holder from the inside, also removing the air vents and the buttons underneath. We do not provide information on purchasing the new radio unit: there are so many options available, for all tastes and budgets, that our suggestion would be pointless. We clean the screen in place of the radio unit slot and the storage compartment below - after reconnecting all the electrical connectors - and then reassemble the trim with the air vents and the upper storage compartment. We screw back the air conditioning controls and its trim: some of the physical buttons that we lost will be found in the touchscreen display.
