One reason the air conditioning compressor may not work is the condenser. In this video, the YouTuber shows an example without specifying the vehicle, but fundamentally the system remains the same across all models, including our Volkswagen Polo MK5. The condenser is easily identified as it has a cylindrical body and is of considerable size, with the voltage indicated on its body. It costs around £15.00 on major e-commerce platforms: in this case, the voltage was arriving, but the compressor would not start, even though the fan was still running. Disconnect the connectors and reattach them to the new part, and the compressor will now work.
