How do you reset the Service light of the Volkswagen Golf 6?

It will be possible to turn off the Service light that is shown on the instrument panel of the Volkswagen Golf by inserting the ignition key into the lock and turning it to turn on the panel: once the panel is turned on, it will be possible to navigate the menu that appears on the panel to select the "Settings" and then "Service" options. In the screen that appears next, you will need to select the "Reset" option: this way the light will disappear from the instrument panel. The panel can now be turned off by removing the key in order to complete the reset operation.
